$IONS (IONIS PHARMACEUTICALS) — 8-K: FDA approves Ionis' ZANVASTRO as first disease-modifying treatment for Alexander disease

The FDA approved ZANVASTRO (zilganersen) for pediatric and adult patients with Alexander disease, an ultra-rare, progressive and often fatal neurological disorder affecting approximately 1 in 1 to 3 million people worldwide. ZANVASTRO is the first and only disease-modifying treatment for AxD, designed to reduce production of glial fibrillary acidic protein. Ionis also received a Priority Review Voucher with the approval. This marks Ionis' first independent launch from its neurology pipeline and second independent launch this year.
