Dax Kilby's swing change drives his remarkable Arizona Fall League rise.
Context
What happened: Yankees 2025 top draft pick Dax Kilby, limited to 32 games at Tampa in 2026 by hamstring issues, is playing in the Arizona Fall League with a new swing aimed at reducing his ground ball rate.
Key numbers: 32 games at Tampa in 2026 with an .883 OPS, .261 average and .448 OBP. In the AFL: .290 AVG, .613 SLG, .964 OPS, seven extra-base hits and four strikeouts. He is 19. The Yankees ranked 24th in OBP this season.
Why it matters: The content says the Yankees lack a long-term second baseman, and Kilby's on-base skills could fill that role in two years or less if he stays healthy.
