WES STREETING WARNS DONALD TRUMP TEAM OVER PUTIN APPEASEMENT

What happened: Wes Streeting warned Donald Trump's team against using "appeasement" tactics with Vladimir Putin, telling BBC Newsnight there is a "very clear line between appeasement and a peace process." Key numbers: An estimated one million Russian soldiers have been injured or died in Putin's war in Ukraine. Why it matters: The remarks mark a shift for Andy Burnham's government, which the content says had largely tried to avoid criticising Trump until now. Streeting cited the failure of appeasement after the 2014 Crimea invasion.
